There are several ways to prolong the life of your hardwood floor finish.
- Use felt or fabric protective pads on the bottom of all furniture to avoid scratching the hardwood floor finish.
- Major appliances should be placed on appliance tracks.
- Nylon roller wheels should be replaced with rubber wheels.
- Place door mats in front of each entryway to help trap dirt and other debris from outside.
- Dust mop and vacuum frequently to remove dirt, dust, etc.
- Do not leave wet shoes or wet clothes on hardwood floors.
- Immediately wipe up any spills to prevent spotting or damage to the floor’s finish.
- Keep your pets’ nails trimmed as they may scratch floors.
- Care should be taken in the type of product used to clean a hardwood floor. Cleaners not designed for hardwood floors may contain chemicals which can make floors lose their gloss and beauty.
